The 21st Annual Compounders on Capitol Hill (CCH) is being held at the Renaissance Washington, in Washington D.C. With more than 400 attendees in 2015, Compounders on Capitol Hill brings together the top-level compounding pharmacists and technicians from across the country with the same goal – to protect pharmacy compounding.

At Premier Pharmacy, we continue our efforts to be involved with every level of government. In taking an active role in this 4 day event, Pharmacists Robert and Diana Harshbarger are representing Premier Pharmacy in Washington D.C. with in-depth meetings with some of our elected officials such as Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander, as well as U.S. Representative Phil Roe and countless other members of Congress.

Yesterday, we joined with the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and celebrated our 25 year anniversary with a ribbon cutting celebration. We were humbled and very thankful for all those who came out and joined us in reaching such a milestone.

A tremendous thank you also to the thousands who have allowed us to create personalized medicine for you over the past 25 years. Your trust and faith in us to provide you with quality products, tremendous customer service, and in-depth counseling is only equaled by the pride we feel in helping each and every one of you with anything that you may need, and we are committed to providing you nothing but the best as we go into the future.

Premier Pharmacy Goes to Nashville!

Last week was a tremendous experience as we sponsored the Leadership Kingsport class trip. We were able to visit with our local leaders in Nashville and speak about a wide range of issues and learn more about what they are doing to improve our area, as well as the entire state of Tennessee. It was also a pleasure getting to meet the business professionals who are taking part in this year’s class! They are truly a talented group of people and we look forward to working with each of them in the future. Thank you to the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to have sponsored this event and for everything you have done for us! It is easy to see why our Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and everyone who works there is considered to be one, if not the top, chamber organizations in the state and Southeast!

Premier Pharmacy Partners with WGAT Radio and The Gate City Blue Devils

During the 2014 football season, Premier Pharmacy partnered with WGAT radio and The Gate City Blue Devil Pre/Post Game show to sponsor a “Player of the Week” award. The Pre/Post Game Show covered and reported on games from all across our region (60 schools total) as well as broadcasting the Gate City Blue Devil games.

We collaborated with sports writers across the region each week to pick a winner. After the season, we took the 10 winners – and had fans, schools, families, and players vote through the radio show’s Facebook page, by text, or by tweeting for the most deserving winner of a “Player of the Year” award. In the 2 weeks of voting, our Premier Pharmacy Players of the Year had 4,680 total votes.

Over the next few weeks, we will be presenting the winners with their trophies and awards. Last night, we made the first of our presentations.

Congratulations to Sullivan South’s Quarterback Dylan Wieger. He was named as the 2014 Premier Pharmacy Tennessee Player of the Year. He helped lead the Rebels to the 3rd round of the TSSAA playoffs, propel an offense that averaged 47 points per game, and set several school records in his career. This year, Dylan accounted for 3,200 yards of total offense, passed for 34 touchdowns, and rushed for 13 touchdowns for the 11-2 Three Rivers Conference Champions. He also earned MVP honors in the Tennessee/Kentucky All Star Game in December.

Governor Haslam Visits Premier Pharmacy

In 2013, Governor Haslam announced a “Drive to 55” to raise the number of Tennesseans with a certificate or degree beyond high school from 32 percent to 55 percent by the year 2025. Reaching that goal requires us to provide greater opportunities for adults to enroll in higher education, complete a credential, and enter the workforce prepared for success. Today, the governor spoke about the initiative and success of the program at the Meadowview Convention Center here in Kingsport.

We proudly support this worthwhile project and will soon be announcing how we intend on contributing to the governor’s effort on accomplishing this task.
